Here is a great article about some of the controversy surrounding Amendment 1. Most lawyers agree: This amendment would take away domestic partnership rights, call into question the provision of domestic violence protection for unmarried couples, and is not necessary since no one’s challenging the statute against same-sex marriage anyway.
